As I headed back home from Emily and Steven’s Massachusetts wedding I found myself thinking about the wonderful people I met while I was up there. Every single person was amiable and excited for Emily and Steven to tie the knot. I always say it and will continue to do so: People make a wedding spectacular not the details. In my mind that is why this day was so special. The amazing people that surrounded Emily and Steven. Their parents who gave them loving support, their friends that stood up at the altar with them, and the guests that were nothing but smiles as Emily walked down the grassy landscape at Harrington Farm. It was fantastic to see and hands down worth the drive.
Although it’s the people that make a wedding spectacular, the details make it beautiful. And when it came to the detail department Emily and Steven nailed it. Steven is a graphic designer and had a hand in a lot of the awesome stationary and other details that could be found sprinkled throughout the venue. Speaking of which, what a venue! Harrington Farm was charming, beautiful, and was exactly the type of place I love to shoot. I am a HUGE fan of outdoor ceremonies, so when Emily and Steven told me they were having theirs outdoors and exchanging vows they had written themselves I was all about it. Whenever a couple chooses to write their own vows it brings an intimacy to the ceremony that makes happy tears hard to resist. It made for a lovely ceremony in a lovely town with lovely people. I imagine myself reading that last sentence in a British accent…. you should too.
After the outdoor love affair we drove around in a classic car that Steven’s dad had restored. Yes, this wedding is somehow still getting better. We took some shots as the sun lowered in the sky, which made for perfect lighting in this rustic landscape. And that’s how the whole day was–just perfect. Thank you Emily and Steven for inviting me up for a beautiful day in Massachusetts. You guys are awesome!
